This chapter describes how to instal the SGI Gigabit Ethernet Adapter in most servers and

workstations. Refer to the manuals that were supplied with your server for details about per-

forming these tasks on your particular system.

If the adapter hardware and software has been pre-installed in your system, you may wish to

skip ahead to “Changing Configuration Parameters” on page 3-6.

System Requirements

Before installing the SGI Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, make sure your system meets the follow-

ing requirements:
